Default 1800 miles with CT non ac'd

Well guys, I just had a quick question, I'm going to soon be driving on a 1800 mile trip to Charleston and didn't know if I should just leave the S/C alone or take the belt off of it for less wear. My set up is completely stock with the 7lb pulley. I think taking it off would be a good idea, I just hope it's ok to have oil passing through a still blower. If some of you agree that it's a good idea please let me know how to remove the belt because I have no idea. Do I just put a wrench on the tensioner and remove it?

Just leave it alone. Cruising on the highway for hours on end is not going to put any real stress on the SC as it won't be spinning very fast and it won't be working hard because it won't be building pressure.

Why on earth would you want to remove the belt from a good running s/c ? Leave it on there . It will not bother a thing . You may want to have full power for those toll booths

Alright, I guess I just thought that all day spinning it would get hot (no aftercooler) but if some of you guys think it's fine then good.

1800 mile trip?? just take that civic in your picture, that will solve your question on putting more wear + miles on your boosted s2k.

Haha yeah that's actually a really nice (and clean) Prelude. It does kinda look like a civic in that picture. That's actually my roommate's car. Oh and to Tej, yeah it's pretty crazy but I'm moving to Charleston in a few weeks. I'll PM ya and tell ya more about it.

I can understand your reservation in running that far without an after cooler, not to mention racking up an additional 1800 miles on the sc if your just cruising the whole time, it would probably be just fine, but its up to you, if I didn’t have an A/C I may consider the same thing. But just know that you can remove the belt easily and safely run it this way no problem if you want.
