Default 2 boost settings

what would be the best way to have 2 boost maps easily switchable with an aem ems? i dont wanna have to keep a laptop in the car and load different maps, in a pefect world I could just flip a switch, what are my options?

i am using aem ems series 1, my tuner told me about hooking up a switch and using the nitrous map as another tune.

that way a laptop would not be needed

Assuming you have a boost solenoid as well, you can set up a high and low boost switch. The switch will need to be wired into the D connector into the EMS as a switched input. You can set up the switch so that when the wire to the EMS gets grounded, it activates high boost.

I was wondering about this too. If my memory is correct someone at InlinePro said you could get a dual stage boost controller and tune the thing on high boost and as long as it set up right the EMS would auto compensate when switching between the high and lo boost settings. Does this sound right at all? I dont remember anything about having to wire into EMS itself.

Thats exactly what I did. However I lost that function when I used my nitrous map as my failsafe for my methanol setup. Basically it's a switch to ground, you flip it, the ems see's the ground and switches, behaves the same as my meth setup failsafe.

I picked up a simple switch @ radio shack, and wired it in.

This is what it will look like. If you look at the bottom part of the list.

what do you mean two different maps? you talking one map for race gas and one for pump? or you talking just going between 10 and say 18 psi?

if the second one u just need one map tuned to at all psi loads and then just use a switch to jump between the two different boost settings.

if you wanna run two different maps because of different fuel then yeah, you would need to use the nitrous map and set up a switch for that as well as a switch for the boost. though i think you can make it one switch that does two things. i think.

honestly, if you want two different boost settings on pump gas, do it like i am gonna. first and second gear figure 10-11psi, then third gear on full power your high boost . you only hit the high boost seting if you floor it anyways
