2 questions : Supercharging
Hello all,I recently got AP1 and I am having a blast these days.
wan't even considering supercharging because it is already a fast car,
but I was reading some FAQ thread and and found out that if installed by authorized dealer/installer than the warranty is not going to be affected.
before I start all the research I want to find out few stuff about supercharging and was wondering if you guys can help me out...
1.
I was going to sell my s2k again next summer. and probably I will put everything back to stock when I sell it (or trade in)
and if supercharging kit is simple bolt on then is it possible to take the kit off without leaving any marks or evidence that shows I had it on the car?
2.
I want to know if it's a good idea getting a used supercharging kit.
if there's some parts that I should change most likely when I get a used one, please let me know.
thanks in advance guys!
If you are getting rid of the car then don't bother man. That's a lot of money for something your barely going to use. SC'rs in the winter are pretty useless in canada for only 1 year.
But yes, as long as its the comptech kit you can return to stock pretty easy. It'll take several hours, but easy. Vortech punches a hole in you oil pan for the return, comptech doesn't.
Dropping $4-5k just for a year is a waste though.

an experienced tech will see the marks on the front x-member that you have to bend to clear the oil return hose. Also, you have to (or are supposed to) trim a small curve out of the radiator fan shroud to clear the intake elbow. If you aftercool, you have to drill a small hole to mount the lower part of the heat exchanger, and punch a small hole in the drip pan for the water pump outlet hose. If they visual the ECU, they will see the splices for where you have to splice the ESM.
Those are the only 'non-bolt-on' aspects i can think of with comptech.
