Default 2008 SOS Upgrade Thread

Guys I have been running a SOS 1200 supercharger kit for ~4 weeks now and I'm already starting to upgrade the kit alittle more. Thanks to Torque Obsessed I deceiced to upgrade a few things. I'm currently making ~360whp 230wtq @ 8psi and 520whp 330wtq @ 18psi. I have a list of the changes I will be doing next week when I take the car in to be tuned. I will be leaving the 2.8" pulley on the blower at all times and just installing a plug inplace of the BLV so I don't have to adjust it...just set it and forget it.

1. Install a 2.8" reichard racing ultra grip pulley-
DONE
2. Install a 3.5" cold air intake- DONE (needs powder coating)
3. Install a BLV which is preset at 12psi from 928 Motorsports-DONE (needs powder coating)
4. Install catch can- DONE (needs painting and a 90 degree fitting)
5. Install Slim line Fans and make shroud-DONE (needs painting or powder coating)
6. Install/Test the new Skunk2 DBW Throttle Body
7. Retune with FlashPro for 12psi and whatever the 2.8" gives me in PSI-
Starts Friday

I will do a before pull at 8psi so I have a idea what this dyno reads. I will then install the CAI and do another pull to see the gains. Then a 12psi retune on 93 octane and a 19-20psi on Sunoco 104 Race Fuel

09/19/2011 update!!

I took my car down to the local track and did ~30 1/8 mile flashlight drags. It was a cool day out ~60-65 degrees out. The Richard Racing 2.8" pulley performed great! I netted 22-23psi VS 18-19 with my 3.0" SOS pulley. Im custom 3.5" CAI performed great!! After maybe 20 runs I checked the flashpro datalogs and IAT's were only 86 degrees! The car felt great and powerful I had to launch @ 2k only use ~50% throttle in 1st and 2nd just to keep the car in a straight line and I didn't catch traction until mid 3rd. Overall I feel the upgrades were well worth the money!!

I have yet to use the BLV...

correction to throttle % I just checked the datalogs

Everything needs to be powder coated BADLY!!

EVERYTHING IS FINISHED Just waiting on the SKNUK2 TB and I need to clean up the engine bay (shes dirty)

Barely FITS!! GOOD THING I DIDNT GET THE FB RADIATOR

Excellent! Cant wait for numbers!

I am wondering where/how people are figuring out what pulley sizes nets what RPM your at with the blower. My figures tell me a 3.0 with a 9k rpm will make the blower spin to 56,925 RPM. Which is 4k rpm over the posted limit of the 1200.

Are we al to the point of who cares lets just spin the SHXT out of it?! lol

Correct
(crank pulley / compressor pulley)*redline*gear ratio = impeller speed

(5.45/3.0)*8000*3.6=52,320

In my case

(5.45/2.8)*8400*3.6=58,860

I didn't want to overspin the blower but when I called for my new pulley a little birdy told me that the companies de-rate the blowers to keep people from overspinning the blowers....I was told the numbers have been said between 10-20% so I was like what the heck give me the 2.8 instead of the 3.0.

I will always be running this pulley as I cant stand changing the pulley.

100% bone stock with 12k miles

I am thinking of buying Toda Cam Gears but the $900 price tag turns me off.

Just get the offset cam keys. Does the same thing but much cheaper.
