Default $45 fix for your hot Inline Pro intake

I recently installed my Inline Kit and have read from others on here that the filter sits so close to the turbo that it sucks in mostly hot air.

Here is my remedy:

Purchased this part from Checker Auto for $45. It's made of polished aluminum and matches the other polished pipe under the hood.

Here it is installed with the K&N filter from inline at the end.

I do not have any way of comparing the difference between the 2 filter locations so please don't ask.

The pipe is 3" diameter. Some sort of bracket will need to be added to prevent the tube from self destructing on the cross-member. Until I figure that out, I simply took an extra 4" of turbing (which comes with the pipe), split one side, and placed it over the edge of the beam.

Awesome. I will look into that. Much cheaper then a custom fabbed piece.

Looks like your hood won't close in that picture. You do have a stock hood, right? and no fitment issues?

Can I get a pic of what your fix was for the cross member-intake pipe contact?

Here is a pic to give you a better idea of the height - it does not hit my hood.

As for the temporary fix: I used a 4" piece of thick hose like the one you see coming out of the valve cover. I then made 1 slit down the length of the hose. I placed that slit over the vertical edge of the cross member so that the pipe rests on it.
