Default Absurdly Cheap Ebay Turbo Kit

Now.

I know full well this will be laughable quality ... probably.

Is this dangerous to even consider looking at, or is there actually a chance that might work and not loose you power

It's essentially a copy of the revhard kits, I think someone should try one for fun, I've even thought about it at times. Everyone keeps knocking them, but what if it turns out to be decent? I mean people are paying $3-4k for Greddy kits and only getting 260-280rwhp (they can go higher of course), I'd imagine these ebay kits can muster up something similar.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it's the same kit the kid in this thread is using: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=761849

I have to be honest, I am tempted to give it a go and see what happens....

I would assume the best way forward would be to look at the kit, do 'sensible' additions such as a suitable ECU to deal with the extra power (Greddy E-Manage maybe?) And see what you could do...

Worst case scenario I guess it destroys my engine?

Indeed, worst case you trash the engine.

People come to the shop with these kits but for other models of cars. The turbo is useless, don't even waste the gasket putting it on to try it. They spew oil like crazy. I have two on my desk as decorations.

The silicone hose clamps have broken while we installed them, so I'd skip using those as well.

So far, you're paying for the piping, intercooler, silicone clamps and a few fittings. Is it still worth it? Might as well buy a "universal" turbo kit on eBay. Comes to the same result, but cheaper.

Try to find that kit without turbo and add a nice one yourself. Example:
The Mitsubishi turbo´s from Volvo are great and last forever, buy a used one. Probably the same total price but better turbo, I´ve used them many years on Nissan cars and can answer your questions.

Interesting... I was always of the understanding going turbo on an s2000 was an incredibly difficult and expensive option...

I wouldnt be after hillarious amounts of power, just a reasonable, reliable rise in mid range with a bit more up top.

Figure out the conversion ratio first, thats not dollars. If your looking for an ebay kit the godspeed one has worked for a few people.
