Default Aem 1052 issues

I removed my old e-manage (huge headache) and installed the 1052 unit. My problem is that every time I go to connect it says buffer overrun error. And the unit goes offline, then immediately back online. It will do it 2-3 hundred times before the calibration can get transfered onto the box. Any way to remedy this. It slows down my ability to make changes considerably. Is it possibly a bad cable?

Check the AEM forum. Usually you need to update the firmware.

What cord are you using? Update the firmware as well. If you're using straight serial and the issue continues after updating the firmware post back

In your laptop, in control panel's device manager, under hardware, go to COM1 (or whatever port you're using) and reduce speed to 9600 Baud. It might help. Also, in AEMPro, check to make sure the speed is the same.

Where would this be at? Painting a picture would be nice for me (printscreen key). It is just an ordinary serial cable. I thought about using one of those serial to usb cables, but they are usually more trouble than they are worth. I tried setting the speed all the way down in the device manager, but it didn't help

what usb-serial adapter are you using?

buffer overrun is normally a usb driver issue.

Try pulling the negative battery terminal for five seconds. If that doesn't work Update EMS Firmware...

I was using a standard serial rs-232 cable.
