Default AEM 3.5 BAR MAP Sensor install

I have an AEM 3.5 BAR in it's way here and am wondering how people are installing them.

It looks like they have a barbed fitting so any vacuum line from the intake manifold should do.

Otherwise there seems to be an NPT fitting so I guess you could tap and thread the manfold and do a direct install.

What have people done? Any pics of mounting positions?

I just attached a hose from the EVAP to it when I removed a bunch of the evap items. You can also drill an NPT flare and use a SS braided line to it if you want to get fancy about it

Cheers Kane, but how did you mount the actual sensor?

some self-fusing tape wrapped around the body and those little plastic C clamps that hold the hoses in place (removed an evap item that was on it before) and I just put it on there. Holds it very tightly and completely out of slight.

Hmmm, functional but not pretty. I think I'll look for a way to dril and tap both sensors directly into the intake manifold.

Cherry's PM was about the GM 3 bar he sent me. Is there a functional difference between the AEM and the GM? Is one better?

Also, looking at the AEM MAP Wizard there are three part numbers for the GM 3 bar; 12223861, 12219935, 16040749. The only number on the sensor itself is; 1006A30. Does anyone have any idea which of these wizard configs I should use?

I just made a simple aluminum bracket yesterday to hold the map sensor actually but it's upto you how you want to have it. I didn't Tee the vacuum line. The MAP sensor has its own line going to it after removing the EVAP.

The AEM units are better generally...the GM units have a fairly high failure rate I'm noticing. I also have a GM vehicle and I can really say that nothing compares to the fine quality, craftsmanship, and engineering that goes into a GM vehicle ...except maybe something like a rock.

I'll wait until I receive the AEM sensors before deciding how to install them. WHere does the AIT go? Is the stock one on the side of the IM?
