Mine is set up to run 16 psi in first gear up to about 36 mph, then goes to 24 psi in second gear up to about 50 mph and 28 psi beyond that. It works very well for me for traction and the car just squats and goes very strong. Mind you, the DR's do have to be warmed up though.

I wanted to do this too, but I don't want to run full boost all the time.

I use race gas as well. So I would't be able to easily switch...

Im the same way and dont have a switch to go from low to high boost. This is how i run all the time but you could just lower you top boost to what you see in second gear and run that all the way to redline. Im basically at 480 whp in first, 540 whp through second, and 580 whp the rest of the way. You could just run the 540 whp all the way to the top if youre similar to my output.

Oh it does if im cruising in third around 50 mph and mash it. Its a little different when going through the gears though. A lot of the time, when i get into third, it will just skim the tires. I guess its because the tires have gotten a lot of heat in them from banging through the gears.

Just sucks I have to plug my laptop in every freakin time I want to increase boost.

Yeah, it kinda does suck but if you think about it, it really doesnt take that long with the laptop. You could hook a switch up to the nitrous map on the AEM and use it for high boost. Thats what ill do eventually and i think you can basically copy and paste your map in there but with just a higher boost.

using the nitrous map as your race gas map is probably the best bet if you go between race gas and normal gas often. just don't leave it on race gas mode with street gas in it, the extra timing won't be good at all

I've got an AEM boost solenoid already so I'll use that for my setup. I'm going for 500whp so I'm sure I'll have to set up some kinda boost by gear like Spoolin is doing. eventually I'll probably dial in the traction control too just for fun. between boost by gear and traction control I'll get all the power to the ground

using AEM to control boost is much better than almost all boost controllers as you can vary boost % across RPM as well as doing boost by gear etc...

The only reason i am still keeping my AEM tru-boost, is because i DD my car, and vary the boost depending on if i'm just merging into traffic or racing someone. You can wire up a switch, but it only has two settings (on/off).
