Default AEM Serial Gauge w/ V1

Okay so I have an AP1 with an AEM series I and I tryed the modifry ECT fix and lets just say his instructions for taking measurements of the ECT voltages are rediculous, and I dont feel like pulling the intake manifold just to get it working.. so I am looking to replace my AEM tru boost gauge with an AEM serial gauge, my question is, would the serial gauge read the water temp correctly? and how would it read boost? does the ECU read boost?

As long as the tables are setup with the correct values. Yes. It will display coolant and pressure correctly. It takes the map sensor reading from the ecu.

Ok, Evans tuning tuned the car, so I would imagine the tables are all set?

Yes.

Why do you have problems getting modifrys temp fix to work. I set mine up in 15min and I didn't have to touch anything under the hood.

If you have the serial gauge, dont bother with the modifry temp fix.
Evans setup my serial gauge to read coolant temp. Its not like you need to look at all the time, set a warning to flash if it goes over a certain #.

Yea that's the plan.. And modify says sometimes cars with a lot of mods voltages are out of wack an you have to do some rediculous testing to get it working.. Not worth it in my opinion.. Serial gauge FTW..

i run the same thing you are. two serial gauges, aem v1 box. i modded my water temp table to read more accurately. i also installed the modifry fix. its cake as long as you dont mind splicing and soldering wires. hell, i think his setup is all vampire clips if i remember right. its really easy.

and i would def do it. i never have my serisl gauge on water temp. AFR on one and boost on the other. the AFR one always stays on afr lol. the other i bounce around between air temp, knock volts, o2 feedback correction etc etc.

you will love the gauge, just takes time to setup. so glad i dont have to do that again.

I agree. Pain in the butt to set up correctly but once it's done it makes it all worth it.
