AEM vs Hondata
Okay, I have read all the posts but I need to hear it again.
I have an Inline Pro kit that will be delivered Wednesday and I am debating on selling my EMS again. With my head off is it worth breaking down and buying a new Valve cover and all the parts needed? Is it just the sensor that needs to be changed on the crank or does the reluctor ring also need to be changed?
Is the Hondata worth all the extra work and money. From my figures the EMS with WB is about $1500 and the Hondata is about $2100.

I personally would never get Hondata over the AEM EMS unless it was the only option, aka, the newer drive-by-wire S2000's. Hondata is a good system but it doesn't have everything the AEM does and it's more money. plus it's more convoluted with the two ECU's and changing sensors.
haha looks like I'm going against the grain here but I say if you have the motor apart and want a superior system go with the Hondata. It is a far better standalone and though the AEM has a few more features it isn't a RACE BRED system like the AEM is and is more made for street driven cars... it is easier to tune and therefore you spend less on a tune since there is less involved... it uses HONDA formulas for fuel calculation so it starts and runs better than the AEM. I had a 1052 installed on my car and could not for the life of me get it to start and run on the base map and if it did run it was like crap. The hondata starts and runs like stock...
bottom line. HONDATA!!!

if your looking for oem quality.. hondata.. if you want to pass emmissions...hondata is the way to go..
i have had the 1052 uego... it gets finicky sometimes... sometimes acts up when starting and wat not..
everyone who had the aem ems and actually swapped over to the hondata and got it retuned said it was so much smoother, oem start up, oem driveability. what do you expect? its an oem acura ecu. ofcourse its gonna run smoother....
i live walking distance from inline pro...i've seen and known s2k owners that have done the swap and are so much happier.....
i personally have never had it.. but known the tuners and folks that have them and say its better. if i go turbo again, i'm going hondata if i could.

like I said before if you have a DBW car or need to worry about emissions then I'd go Hondata because that's you're only choice, otherwise AEM is the way to go.
in the end it's preference, whatever you or your tuner are comfortable with is what you should go with, it's a shame that hondata is so damn much
