Default Aftercooler pumps

I have a CTSC 1200 kit with the SoS large heat exchanger. Using the stock CT pump. Should I consider the SoS higher flow pump or does it flow too much?

I went for the Bosch/Cobra pump. Several others here have done the same.

I'm running the water pump that comes standard with the larger heat exchanger. What's the difference between that and the Cobra pump? Does it have a faster flow/pump rate?

I'd look up the specs myself but I don't have the part numbers on hand

Cheers!

I'm not sure what pump SOS uses, but here is the Cobra pump specs so you can compare http://www.siliconeintakes.com/produ...oducts_id=1001

I would recommend the Bosch Cobra pump especially if you have the upgraded heat exchanger. It flows more than twice the volume of the Johnson pump that (used to) come with the SC kits. It also runs extremely quiet, again especially compared to the Johnson pump. I don't know what pump the different companies are including with the kits these days.

Best pump for the money. Its actually designed like an after cooler water pump. As opposed to using a johnson pump

I don't know the flow numbers between pumps, but the cobra pump can be had for around 100 bucks so I'm sure that's why it's the 'go to' for many of us.

Ah well that sucks, I was sent the Johnson pump with the kit I bought recently. Time to upgrade I guess.

I was looking at the link to siliconeintakes and the pump that they sell also comes with the wiring harness for an extra $20, is that part needed?

I take it that SOS does not sell a bigger water pump with the upgraded racing heat exchanger...
