Default Aftermarket Charge cooler for Comptech SC?

I recently bought a novi1000 blower and Comptech bracket.. Im slowly going to rebuild the blower with upgraded bearings and impeller from supercharger rebuilds.com parts, And im going to purchase a Aftercooler from silicone intakes website as well. My question is If I can use one of the aftermarket charge coolers (AIR TO WATER INTERCOOLER) that FrozenBoost.com offers like the one im posting link about.. and what modifications would be needed if this charge cooler can work?

I recently did the same with a kit I got cheap and while the aftercooler will work, it will not work the way that the Comptech design will. It needs to be arched to clear the supercharger mount that connects to the alternator. Also, the end tanks are 2.5 inch, instead of 3 like on the comptech, and there is no overflow tank to bleed the system of air. It's doable, but if you can locate a used Comptech for 200-300 dollars, it's probably going to be easier to do in the long run. Also, you can locate those aftercoolers on Ebay for about 20-30 dollars cheaper, so its worth having a quick look on ebay. Good luck!

My used comptech aftercooler cost me $750-850 (don't remember exact number). While I may have overpaid, almost no one is ever selling just the aftercooler, nor are they willing to part it out out. I basically had to make a high offer to have someone part the cooler from their used kit.

It may be cheaper to go the custom route, though definitely isn't easier. My car is my DD so I didn't really have an option.

Yeah you're either going to have to find one for sale (which lleron already mentioned is rare) or modify one to fit. I think buyng one from Comptech is well over 1000 dollars so I'd imagine that's out of the question. Why not skip the aftercooler and heat exchanger and go to a front mount intercooler?

Yeah 1000 is to much for that item, and intercooler robs psi.. which in the long run for me is No Bueno (Not Good) wanting a 3.0 pulley to extract as much power of the novi1000 in the future and Aftercooler is a must.

Check out PWR. It is the A2W that I'm using. Maybe you could make it work for your situation.

Give BEGI in TX a call. I think they used to make aftercoolers for comptech. At least that's what Stephanie told me. They won't be cheap, but the price will be fair and the quality very good.
