Default aftermarket throttle body.

Hello,

i'm wondering what kind of gains people have gotten with a 70mm tapered throttle body (like SOS) vs a 70mm straight throttle body (like skunk2)

SOS has dyno charts proving up to +12whp peak on 6-7psi boost. has any1 dynoed before and after for a 70mm straight throttle body (and port matched IM) on a supercharged setup?

it makes sense that it might be more.. but some people have said otherwise and i can't find any solid results.

I just bought a skunk2 alpha for my car. Unfortunatly i will not be doing a back to back test. I am interested to hear if the alpha 70mm will even work on a S2000 intake manifold. I might be the first test dummy for this...

I thought the alpha was a tapperd tb, not straight through...

i believe its a straight bore 70mm

some people argue the venturi effect in favour of the tapered tb.

I'd like to see some hard evidence.

wish you were doing a back to back test... do you know what you would put down on a dyno now? for rough comparisons sake?

I was actually looking at this for the past few days. I am looking into Maxbore and getting the TB and IM done once im done with my turbo build.

I have been thinking about a throttle body lately for my Ptuning ap1 on pump/meth since its on a 3076 and i am trying to squeeze every hp out of the "small" turbo. The full blown 74 looks like a great piece dont get me wrong but is it really THAT much better than a skunk2 alpha for a thrid the price???

Full Blown Motorsports, you get a straight and tapered option just by swapping out a spacer, and its pretty.

I'd take Fullblown over Skunk2 any day of the week.

What kind of gains can be seen from the full blown one? Does having a larger tb hurt anything ?
