For those of you that have removed your air pump...

What did you do with the open pipe that is left? I circled it in red in the below picture. Did you cap it off? put a filter on there? what?

it pumps more air into the intake at start up to make the mixture lean... so that it increase egt's and in doing so heats up the catalytic converter


leaving it shold be fine because the valve is shut anyway
