Default Another day another Mase install

Standard kit with the 5857B, ID 1000s, Berk HFC and T1R-70EM, K-Pro w/RSX O2 + Tunerview2.

Riding on low boost (mid 300(ish)whp, hi/lo switch in cup holder) for now while I get used to it.

T1Racedevelopment did a fantastic job on the install/tune, so glad I chose them for the job. They had to do a little work to mate the DP with the cat that would have messed me up big time if I'd attempted it myself. They also fabbed up a bracket to stop some vibration where the DP was hitting the manifold.

14lbs from 3rd gear up. (7lbs in 1st, 10lbs in 2nd) Yeah, my Mase heatshield was vibrating too, you can just about see it has been lovingly hammered into submission in the pic.

Looking now I wonder is that filter melting some already. I'll have to take a look in the morning, might just be the way the light is on it.

n/m I had to go look It had slipped off some but I think the clamp was just a bit loose. Will keep an eye on it.

What exhaust system are you running, you said cat, so I'm guessing maybe a Berk HFC? More details on the setup would be much appreciated. Do you have a recirculating dumptube? Also, what boost level did you make 330whp on, 7lbs?

Exhaust details are up there in the post! ^

Yeah I've got the open dump, so keeping the HFC is a bit silly, but it was what I had already. I'm thinking about going with a TP and the Berk UHV dual when my wallet recovers. Mostly for vanity, the single on the AP2 bumper has slowly started to bug me.

Looking at the .kal last night I'm on 7,10,10,10,10,10 on low boost and 7,10,14,14,14,10 on high. Needless to say I flipped the switch soon as I got in the car this morning. I couldn't find a 330hp plot on any of the dyno charts so I may have been off on that figure.

I really like your set up looks real good, nice number as well.

I don't really understand why you would get a fast spooling turbo and not run more boost down low. Maybe cause you feel you might break something? I would have that thing hit hard and fast.

Tony went pretty conservative with the boost in low gears for sure. But I'm OK with that for now. It's my daily driver and by far the highest hp car I've driven to date, easing myself into it. That said, I can already see myself bumping up those low gears in time.

Actually, does anyone know how Mase has the boost set in the base calibration for 1st and 2nd? He never did remember to email me that .kal, heh.

A fast spooling turbo is to have boost at a low RPM, not necessarily a low gear. The boost by gear should be setup based on the traction available per gear, and is of course easily adjustable. I put some numbers in there that seemed close and felt good on Greg's car. If more boost is desired in those gears, it can easily be turned up until traction is lost.

Glad to hear you're happy with it Greg.

I'll say this, of all the turbo kits i've worked with, the Mase Engineering kit is by far the most complete and very well put together kit i've worked with for the S2K. I would highly recommend this kit.
