ANOTHER GT3076R TURBO BUILD
Howdy fellow forcefed S2Kers..
It seems Im just about finished my build now. The build was actually kinda completed about 6 months ago but I was running it every day so it had a very conservative tune.
Ive now aquired a daily so I've installed a water meth kit and Im turning up the boost to 12psi.
Ill load pics over the next couple days but basically here are the specs to my custom street build:
GT3076R (0.63 ar) -I wanted to go 0.82 but the turbo I sourced came with the 0.63.
AEM series 2
76mm custom exhaust
Custom sidewinder manifold
750cc injectors
AEM water meth kit 50/50 mix
Tial 44 mm wastegate
Tial BOV
ACT HD clutch
6 pot Big Brakes
What is industry norm power for such a build?? I wanna see if I can make in the region of that.
In Johannesburg we at exceptionally high altitude which normally reduces our figures by +-5% for Turbo and 17% for NA.
And we tend to work on kw not HP. Im hoping for 270wkw which is equivalent to around 360whp.
You guys think thats safe to run as a weekender and is there anything you would change to make it more efficient?

If your setup is efficient you can make 360whp around 10psi without the need for water meth on a reliable tune with the .63 gt3076 just make sure you have a good tuner. If you want water/meth you can turn boost way up and go for 400-550whp reliably.
I also agree with the other two replies......with a good tune,an efficient manifold & exhaust system, and enough juice from your fuel system, you can get to the 450+ HP mark pretty easily.
Honestly, unless you are adding in the meth in an effort to get even more HP out of what you got....it's just another system to have to monitor in / on the car, so I'd say not to do the meth unless you've already maxed out your set-up as is....which doesn't sound like it's the case.
Do you have a capable tuner, and dyno in your area....who isn't going to be using your S2000 as his first run at it..?

He has tuned many hondas and other Japcars. He himself has a Turbo B20 doing 500HP. Yes he has a dyno we gonna use. Ill post up the graph when we done.
Personally I wouldnt wanna go over 400hp on these cars. I dont think the gearbox and diff will manage for very long at all. I think 360hp -400hp range is more than enough
power for such a light car on the street. Each to their own I guess.
BTW I think the main reason we dont match the numbers you guys make per psi is due to the shit quality of fuel we have here. Thats why so many Turbo cars run water meth here. It helps improve the octane and consistency. Im going to run a failsafe on the water meth so that should help.
Cant wait for dyno!
