Any flowbench data on a Portflow head?

My original post asking for actual flow data was the result of Earl showing me his hand written notes comparing Portflow to Alaniz to Stock. I wanted to further verify the numbers from actual flow test documents. That's why I posted the question.

Earl stated that flow testing carries an extra charge and therefore most customers do not pay to have their before and after flow measured. Based on my limited knowledge, I would think that these measurements are important for the porter to know whether or not they did an appropriate job on the head.

I was originally talking to Alaniz about the head work. But was not happy with the communication. And have read too many BAD stories about the customer service. To be fair Alaniz does seem to do very good work and several people have said he is THE guy to go to.

I don't know what data they (Laskey Racing) have or if they will share it. If they do, I'll post what I get from them. If I do continue with this, I'll post my before & after.

Does anyone have the Alaniz numbers to add to this thread?

Regarding the Alaniz flow numbers.

I'll have to look for my flow charts and may not be able to find them. There was an increase of almost 6 percent in the intake flow and 16.8 percent in the exhaust where the restriction is.

I know this might not be an issue to some, but I got my head back less than 3 weeks after I sent it off to Laskey(Portflow). I have heard that Alaniz can take considerably longer. Not that important when discussing flow numbers, however.

(IMHO) Flow numbers are important...when the head is back on the car. 3 weeks is a long time to be down. 2 months or more? How important are those numbers?

Hi everyone. Anyone who knows me can vouch for the fact that I only race and sell products that I have researched, tested and use myself. I could not endorse anything that I do not believe in.
I do have flow results for OEM, Alaniz and PortFlow S2000 cylinder heads. Someone doubted if we had really flowed one of Joe's heads and who was the owner of that head. The Alaniz head we flowed was borrowed from Arnold. I'm sure some of you know he has that S2000 in the east coast that recently ran in the 10's at over 130mph. Anyone who knows him can call him and verify that and please post your results from the call. Arnold has the results of that test. It is his head and I certainly would not break a confidence with him and post his numbers on the internet.
We compared his numbers with an OEM head flow test. This gave PortFlow two good baselines to work from. We were very surprised, actually, as to how good the intake side flowed right from the factory. The head would not respond to larger intake valves. Both PortFlow and Alantiz heads responded well to exhaust side modifications.
I know that many might wonder why not post flow number up for the world to see. In doing that, there is always someone out there ready to throw stones at your numbers. The grief is just not worth it. In the end, the important numbers are how well your car performs at the drag strip or road course and not if one head will flow 3 more CFMs at .300" lift than another head.
Laskey Racing is always available to answer your question by phone or e-mail. We get heads back in about 10 days, built blocks back in about 6-8 weeks and try to ship most parts the next day. We treat every customer as we would expect to be treated ourselves. Hope this helps.

Portflow needs to step up and publish some numbers with test parameters.

Nobody wants to spend big money on an unknown.

You Earl should do this for us so we can make informed decisions.

It was a pleasure talking with you at the bbq a couple weeks ago.
