Any flowbench data on a Portflow head?
I am interested in seeing how the flowbench data correlates to real world power increases. Flowbench testing is a steady state analysis. Constant flowrate across the system. This, of course, is unrealistic as an engine is always operating in a transient mode.
I would like to see the test data for an N/A application. Just one more variable out of the equation. Before and after torque data correlated to before and after flowbench data.
I am curious for a few reasons. A 4G63 head has shown very good results on flowbenches, but any tuner knows that it won't even compare to an F20 head in reality. There is a reason it takes 20-25 PSI of boost pressure to create the flowrates necessary for high horsepower in those engines, and it's not all related to a lower compression ratio. My point is that flowbench testing may not be the best test of how an engine will perform. I won't deny the benefits of headwork though

I can ask PortFlow if they would like their flow numbers posted on the S2000. I cannot see any benefit for them to do that, however.
Now on the other hand, they did a cylinder head for Jeremy Loucowski(sp?). It was a K series head but the ports are of similar design. It is an NA head and the car ran 143mph in the quarter mile in testing at Bakersfield. This is the fastest all motor car to date. Although the et was good also, the mph is the real measure of horsepower. It says volumes about PortFlow's work.

Everyone including myself want to see the flow numbers so we make an informed decision. Sideways posted his flow sheet a few years back on his Alaniz head. If PortFlow can come close or even exceed Alaniz I don't see how that would hurt anything. I for one, am considering headwork and leaning towards an Alaniz head because it has been proven on Sideways' car. But that is not to say I wouldn't go with PortFlow. I just need more concrete data that's all.
The "We have a good product and swear it works, trust us" mentality is looked down upon especially in the FI forum.

If Sideways would like to post his flow sheets again, I would be willing to post, with their permission, PortFlow's numbers.
I would never break my word to Arnold and post his numbers on his personal Alaniz head. I would rather lose 10 sales. That is what real trust is about.

I have paid the deposit on a spare head and I would like to have it ported, by either Alaniz or Laskey.
Flow numbers by PortFlow that are reasonably comparable to Alaniz would make me choose PortFlow immediately.

I believe all info on the Alaniz head can be found in these 2 place

You can e-mail me and e-mail Alaniz and make your own decision

When I sent my head to Laskey he told me that he had measured an Alaniz head and a Portflow head, and that the Portflow flowed 5% better. Whatever that means.
