Default Anybody else doubting the SC for 06

i was pretty pscyhed about getting the SC before i heard the new price, great if you have the cash. for 6500 for install, then about 500, and then another 500-900 on misc (gauges, tuning, etc.), thats about 7500!
Sucks but any other 06 owners starting to change their minds?

For those of you that are on the waiting list and got the cash,

Are you talking about the new "non-existent" s/c for MY06?

Where did you hear about this price? I can't find them online anywhere?

The problem is with the returnless fuel system, and ECU; MAP/MAF stuff, if I'm not mistaken. I don't see how DBW would affect anything except clearance.

I know there was some talk on these boards of a harness to have the AEM EMS to work with the 06 to regulate fuel, but it isn't perfect. But AFAIK if you're willing to test it out and spend some money then you can be FI'd now.

I'm sure in a couple of years, if a S/C does come out for MY06, that you could pick one up used for about the same prices as used ones today. From about 2500-4500. And if you are sticking with a stock S/C setup you don't *need* any gauges, but if you'd want some, you could pick them up cheap.

Same with tuning. Yes you should tune it, but with stock boost, you wouldn't *have* to.

I would guess that even with tuning and the *necessary* gauges (AF, boost, oil pressure) that in a couple of years it'd be around if not under 5K for everything. Also assuming that you'd install it yourself.

If you're looking at expensive gauges, a brand new S/C, more than stock boost, plugs, injectors, a AEM EMS and lots of tuning time and paid install, I think it'd be over 10k for sure.

So it looks like your average of 7500 is right inbetween my extreme figures.

The problem is not the DBW but the ECU and the fuel system. That's why I sold my 06 for an 05
