Default Anyone with Comptech/Vortech Supercharger,

im considering selling my wheels(volk Ce28) and going back to stock wheels in order to afford a used comptech or vortech supercharger setup. i just feel like for the money i would enjoy a supercharger a little more on a daily basis then a set of wheels. this is my daily driver by the way.

so if you have a SC on your car how happy are you with it? is it worth the money? would you sell Volks and rock stock wheels to be able to have the supercharger?
any input or opinions are helpful, thanks

and no i do not have the funds to keep the wheels and get a blower

Keep the wheels, and get the blower.

In all seriousness, I love my blower, even though its an outdated Novi 1000 COMPTECH kit, it still packs a punch. Ohh, and I have Volks too

^haha so if you had to give up your blower, or some limited edition CE28's what would you do?

wheels will make or break the way a car looks. I think you'll regret selling your volks.

Supercharger hands down . I ran my Vortech at stock boost for 3 years and it was lots of fun .

Keep the volks. Handling is more important.

I have a road coursed FI S2000. I have the old Comptech kit. I am running 10psi (3.6" pulley), 750cc injectors, AEM EMS, etc...

At low rpm it lacks power, no question about it. But, I beat the living hell out of my car, shifting at redline. On the track you are in boost probably 70% of the time...literally. The car pulls plenty hard up top and has been DEAD reliable.

Personally, I am willing to give up some performance for that kind of reliability. That being said, I have considered going turbo on more than one occasion. I will be running SOS's 3 inch pulley shortly on 100 octane. I expect nothing but the same sort of reliability with a bit more punch. Hopefully, the low end will pick up a little by running more boost.

Say what you will about the VTSC or CTSC but, they are reliable and there's no way you're not going to feel a 100whp jump in the stock kit. The difference from stock to supercharged is bigger than some would have you think.

never had a problem on the Vortech SC since 36,000 miles and now it has 102,000 and still running strong. very reliable. except for changing oil and spark plugs more often
