Hey guys, so my new kit is requiring me to delete my oem oil cooler for proper fitment of the manifold. Im not really a fan on the idea but I think it is required. My tuner says its fine to delete as well as pang from Pfab. I will not be running any oil cooler, was wondering if some of you are doing the same with zero issues. I will be looking into an after market oil cooler after the install and tune once I save up the funds for it. What you guys think?

 

Im just curious. What does the factory oil cooler look like? I dont know where it is or if ive ever even seen it

 

The factory oil cooling is just the coolant lines that run into the block right where the oil filter is. I have seen plenty of people remove those lines without issue when relocating their oil filters. I will be doing the same as well and hopefully installing an oil cooler later on.

 

Some say it is used to warm up the oil when you live in colder climates , Im in florida so i dont need this feature, but want some inputs from the guys here.

 

I thought it worked more as a oil warmer than cooler.

 

No it's a oil cooler uses coolant to help keep oil temp's down, I removed mine but installed one behind my intercooler.

 

I think we can just say that it does both haha

 

I dont run an oil cooler, not even the stock one and my oil temps are stable. For short runs and drag racing, you won't need one. For road racing, I highly recommend running an oil cooler.

 

I took my oil cooler off also after installing the inlinepro oil relocator. Alex from sheepey has also said it don't even help. Buddy also said the same thing when I asked him if I should get after market one.

 

You'll be ok unless you're tracking the car and seeing constant high RPM driving.
