Anyone running the Ark 4-1 header?

So Johnny if I'm looking at things right, it looks like the Comptech header on the N/A set up didn't lose any power in the lower rpms over stock but made the appropriate mid/high gains? It should be no different SC, if not even some lower improvement, this is what i was hoping to see

What cat back were they running I wonder?

TP or cat?

I heard the primary size on the Comptech header was smaller then stock though, I wonder if this is how they were able to shift the powerband up N/A without losing anything on the lower end. If so this may prove to be a restriction on a moderately boosted car. Primary size, and length of collector all play a part in tuning as well, ugh its such a crap shoot without allot of research and crossing fingers from "truthful" dyno graphs.

I suggest you save your money and get what you want the first time.

I would also suggest the Hytech is the way to go from personal experience.

Unfortunately, I don't have the details on the rest of the system (e.g., cat/tp, cat-back, etc.).

I really wish this dyno compared the stock header to the CT header, and not another aftermarket header to the CT header.

With that said, it looks like the aftermarket/non-CT header "outshines" (e.g, 3-5 HP) in the 6000-6500 range where the CT header really outshines at 7400+ (e.g., 4 - 9 HP).

There are some areas under 6000 where there is a 1 HP difference and sometimes 2 HP difference "favoring" the aftermarket/non-CT header, but I'll chalk that up as negligible/dyno run variance.
Oh I thought it was a comparison between the oem header and Comptech... my confusion. Well its sort of a pointless comparison then, but thanks Johnny

I know you have done a fair bit of research on 4-1 header designs for SC applications. What can you tell us about the comptech header? Does it have smaller primaries compared to OEM? In the average 300-425whp range, I'd like to know if it’s a worthy efficient upgrade over OEM. You have voiced your opinion on not going with the ARK so I wont bother asking.

Cool thanks.

Its a tough decision for me to go with a header, oem is really quite good. I need some real data to know what I'm getting. I like the idea of the 4-1 design becuase of the added mid/upper gains they can provide, but not if there is a loss in the lower rpms. I'd like to know if there is any losses before I take the plunge.
How often do you run in lower RPMs?

Everytime I leave a stop light or roll on the gas on the freeway. How about you?

Just some info...

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...f=142&t=817368

I don't have any tests from stock to the Hytech but username "yakrat" has a dyno and went from 356whp to 386whp when he switched from the OE to the Hytech.

His mod list at that time:
Engine mods:
Alaniz ported and polished head with oversized exhaust valves
Mugen cat-back exhaust
Hondata intake manifold gasket
Hytech high flow cat
Hytech header
KW S/C

Just FYI

Thanks for the link to the dyno. You wouldn't happen to know how many #'s he's running would you?
