From what I was told by other members, you will be overspinning the blower on a 3" pulley after ~8.5k+. I will soon be installing my high boost comptech kit, and the car is my daily, so it needs to be reliable. For that reason, I decided to run a 3.2" pulley. If it wasn't a daily, I would probably go ahead and run the 3.0" pulley and just save up for the 1200 when it breaks.

It's not just breakage but blowing hot air until it goes.

Im running a 3" pulley on my comptech Novi1000. Tuned by Evans, 405whp take her to redline no issues. I read that many have ran the 3" with out issues. Im peaking at 15psi.

this will also be my daily as well. that is why im considering the 3.2 but i took a look at lude's dyno and hes making up to 9k which other people also confirmed no power after 8.5 hmmmm

I too have a 3" pulley on a Novi 1000. Its been running great for ~ 10,000 miles. So far so good. To be honest I don't redline it very often. The 3" gave a nice improvement in midrange torque.

I put a lot of miles on my Novi1000 (100k+)at many different boost levels before I needed to rebuild it. I ran the 4"/3.8".3.4" 3.2" and 3" pulley on my stock F22 to 9k. I then got bored with that and decided to buy a "generic" 2.7" and re size it to fit on the blower. I ran that for maybe 5-6 thousand miles at 20psi with water/meth injection and then I had some engine failure on that set up due to unknown causes. Timing chain related failure and large groove in one cylinder from unknown cause, which appeared to be foreign debris somehow entering intake/cylinder externally. Didn't appear to be over boost related.

thats also why im considering the 3", id like that midrange boost in torque since i wont be hitting 9k every day

wow you got 100k miles off the novi 1000? that is nice to hear!

do you have dyno graphs with all those different pulleys? it would be great to see the changes.

I am running an over sized crank pulley in my ap1 with ap2 motor the pulley is 6.75'' and with the 4.4'' blower pulley I am at 9-10 psi thinking of putting my 4'' pulley on 12-13 psi or just go nuts and run the 3.6 sos with groves cut into it and hit 15 psi the cool think about the 4.4 and the 6.75 is my belt tension is not much more than the base kit needs will let you all know more after I have played around on the dyno I like to take road trips and with the 5.5 crank pulley and 3.6 charger pulley it made me nervous do to extreme belt tension
