Default ap2 turbo kit on ap1?

so i'm in teh middle of purchasing aturbokit from a member on here.

really great looking kit! however i just found out that it was isntalled on an ap2...

So I have 2 questions....

1) fitment wise will everything fit? exhaust? turbo? etc....

2) his tuning..... will it be the same as if on an ap1?? I was planning on getting a touchup tune anyways..... but will it be WAY off from his AP2 tuning???

What kind of kit is it? Fitment should all be the same. The tune is definately going to be different and you will need to get it tuned regardless.

The difference between AP1 and early AP2 are minimal. Most things will fit. Might need to odd adjustment but nothing major.

Later AP2s are a different story although the differences are in the ECU and electronics.

well i know i have to tune it. even if it was off an AP1. i would need a touch up of course.

however I just want to know how far off an ap2 tune is from an ap1?

Since the guys in calgary aren't quite as good as some of the tuning guys in teh states....

There's some boosted honda's here, but no s2000's....

And the harness from his setup would work on my 2003 ap1?

The tune will be a bit off. You will likely need more fuel and a bit less ignition timing.

^ He needs to do a real tune either way.

Please don't just alter a AP1 tune yourself or DL one off the internet...that's a good way to blow ur motor up

not sure if Canada got the 2.2l engine on the AP2's but if it didn't the tune should be very close. either way, you'll need a tune specific for your car.

The harness will also be different. Definately get a total professional retune. My tuner used a AP1 tune as a starting point and it was WAY lean the first pull (15-16 A/F!!). So he richened it up and than he could fine tune.
