Bad Experience With PeakBoost
Hello,I'm one of the few that ordered a Peakboost Turbo Kit for my S2000. I've done lots of research & was debating on purchasing an Inline Pro Stage 2 turbo kit, or the Peakboost Turbo Kit. I inquired about the Peakboost Kit and spoke with Ken Peak himself. I felt like I could trust his word with ordering my kit and receiving it in a timely manner (6-8 weeks.) I felt at ease while conversating with Ken Peak and all my questions and concerns were all answered with no second guessing about the product or service. I ordered my Peakboost Turbo kit on Jan 12th. I was excited about the Peak kit and couldn't wait to finally receive my kit and finish up my project car. After waiting 6-8 weeks, I was anxious and called Ken to check status of shipment. He mentioned problems with HPC coating company did not do a good job coating and had some parts redone. Part of the kit arrived in June, and when it arrived the "coating" that took so long to have done was all scratched up on the manifold and misc parts. The packaging that the parts arrived in were poorly packaged and looked like they were just laying around the shop and they used them to ship the parts I did receive. Ken mentioned he would refund the $150 for the manifold coating. I paid in full but am still waiting on the a/c relocation kit, test pipe, gaskets, misc bolts, intake tube, coolant feed lines for the upgraded GT35r turbo, and at least some picture for installation if not actual instructions and some odds and ends. I have been leaving voice mails and call on a regular basis but there is no answer and no return phone calls in regards to my missing parts. I've even left a message on facebook with no response. It was supposed to take 6 to 8 weeks to receive the "complete" kit. It took 5 months and many phone calls to receive any parts at all. I'm sure the money I paid has been spent already but where is my complete kit??? Why is it that when the kit was paid in full, my kit wasn't shipped in full. Since I've paid in full, I don't get follow ups on my remainder of parts, no call backs or replies to my voicemails or message sent. It's like he took my money and ran. I should have gone the Inline pro route like I was going to in the beginning. I mentioned to Ken my goal to have my car running and tuned by March. TOO LATE. Bottom line, why haven't I received the remainder of my kit and the $150 refund to barely compensate for my scratched up turbo manifold. As Ken knows, I've been really patient and understanding about the delay on shipment of parts due to intercooler anodizing, HPC coating issues, etc. After 7 months has passed, I've finally posted my issues with Ken Peak. Still waiting on my remainder of parts so I can drive my car in the winter, oh yay. Hey Ken, give me a call. I want to get my car running this year!!!!
That sucks man. Prior to this Peak Boost had a good reputation AFAIK so how could you have known right?
Hope you get the rest of your kit soon. I wanted to get a Peak Boost kit one of these days but I guess Im gonna be looking elsewhere now.

After 6 months your credit card company will probably say your SOL and take it to court. You'll probably need to file a claim against them with the BBB and another in court. You can probably get them for mail fraud if nothing else. (yes I know its the internet, but it still applies)

HE DOESNT OWN A FERRARI! He got to drive it for 3 days as a birthday present last year!
you are defending him way to much. WAY TO MUCH. if his customer service is tanking this hard, you should not be the one giving excuses as to why, or telling us what he owns, or telling us personal info about him.
its not helping.
the OP is sharing his experience wiht the vendor, and its needed so that future purchasers can see both the good and bad about a vendor.
i know how you feel, i support the vendors i have worked with over the years, and in some way promote them becuase i got great service. but if they started to do shitty work, i wouldnt look like a super fan boi trying to defend there actions. i would reiterate the great service i got and offer my own way of solving the problem.
telling us he gets 7500 dollar birthday presents does not help at all. yeah unless he has a hookup with a rental place, those cars are about 2500 a day plus mileage.
again, nice to see what the deposits are being used for. unless his girlfriend makes mad cheddar.

it should never take this long to get a turbo kit built, packaged, and shipped.
Wow, seems like you are handling this very well. You've obviously tried to keep all of this private with no success. Hopefully this thread will yield some results.
I hope you get everything sorted out, and he takes care of you.
Prepaying for the entire turbo kit up front and waiting this long has got to be CRAZY FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!
