Default Baffle for Catch can?

I'm building a catch can, got it all cut out tonight, and tomorrow I'm going to weld it up.

However I don't know what to use.

If I should cut some extra metal to put in, or something else.

thoughts/pics/ideas?

Use a breather element as a coalescer and impinge the flow to cause at least one 180 deg change in direction

Typiccly when we build an oil seporator first we direct the inlet flow so that the vapor must make a 180 turn then put it through an element that will help collect any remaining entrained oil. In the case of a catch can you can use a breather element which is like the green scrubbing pads you use to wash your dishes.

I see.

I think I'll just weld a couple plates inside the can, w/opposing holes .

I'll be sure to post pics up here soon.

Ya, I've heard of folks using steel wool as the coalescing element.

Steel wool rusts.

There is a vacuum on that canister @ times, I don't want rusty wool particles floating throughout my motor.

I'll stick with my metal plate idea.

I cant wait to see this Adam. You should make one that fits perfectly into the drivers side wheel hump, just behind the shock tower. Kind of like the one from that shop in Oregon on that guys car that he just had boosted. You know which one I'm talking about?
