Some guys have. When they get water in the combustion chamber. I don't know that it has been done under "normal" circumstances.

Strong rods often snap instead of bend, I bet we have the snap ones.

The rods are forged. I don't think anyone around here as bent one simply by having to much hp. I popped in some pauter rods for my build so it won't be a problem for me, but alot of guys are pushing the stock block over 600hp now and we will begin to see what happens up there.

Never got to the bottom of what caused it . I gues just years of beating on it and racing it finally just let go. I did have a oil filter failure that starved the motor for a little bit about a year before that . Im sure that had something to do with it.
