Sorry, I'm not trying to Hijack your thread at all but I thought it kinda fit into this area and it's kinda not in the right forum but thought I'd give it a try... I am gettin my rims powder coated gold in the next few weeks and was just wondering what you guys thought about maybe doing the intercooler and the mesh gold as well.. I know it may be too much and I realize everyone has different tastes but any feedback would be good.. No flaming tho...

Anywhere ambient air temp is lower than the air temp inside the tube black anodized coating is best. Anywhere ambient air temp is higher black ceramic is best.

That's of course if your talking about performance only, anything else would be opinion based. Technically color does matter although it's probably negligible.

just saw this DO NOT powder coat your intercooler, anodize it if you want to color it. Your intake temps would sky rocket if you powder coated it.

Like I said anywhere the ambient temps are below the air temp inside the tube (outside the engine bay) anodizing would be best. Anywhere the opposite is true powdercoating or ceramic would be best.

Think about it this way powdercoating and ceramic will act to slow heat transfer (not let heat in or out) anodizing will aid heat transfer (let heat in or out).
