Best Setup
I know different setups are best for different types of driving...but I think there's a few out there that can grab quite a few in one. I don't mean to include daily commute, bc Inline has done a good job for reliability and gas mileage...so moving on lol. I think the S is an amazing car and have respect for every S out there and their setup. That said, I have an inline kit on mine.
What really is the best setup though? Torque has never been easy to come by, though to all the stangs and camaros that talk shit I show them how Honda/Inline knew what they were doing with horsepower, gearing and weight. I run a 6176r on c16 at 25-27psi making about 570rwhp/440 tq and have not been beaten by any car in my area. Though those are my highest numbers, I've never raced anyone on race gas-only pump at about 16-18psi: 460rwhp/340 tq. That said, the transmission, rear-end and motor are stock (except for obvious necessities--clutch, 3mm spacer, better tires).
I'm about one month out from finishing this car. I've considered motor swaps, s/c's and nos both before and after, but it feels like I'm so capable with what I have--i mean after all, nobody's come close (other competing makes/models) with the bolt-on kit I have (except one 500awhp sti and novi procharged, 501rwhp mustang gt--both of which have much higher torque, and I beat by about a car and a half's length on pump gas and they ended up blowing up about a week later). Keep in mind I was only on pump gas. I wanted to save as much life out of the stock parts so I didn't go race fuel.
In finishing the car, I see it easily capable of 1000rwhp, and around 500-650 tq, depending on the turbo, octane and boost. I like the 6176r, but bc of the smaller cover it maxes out around 600 rwhp on the turbo stroker that inline offers...that's not enough for me. lol. I may sound greedy, but I'm an enthusiast at heart, and I've become extremely competitive and content with my car. That said, I want something that's useable, not some gt42r not spooling until 4000rpm, figuratively speaking of course. I was thinking the 6776r, 2.5 stroker kit, r200 and PPG transmission build. All and all, that setup can probably top out between 700-800 rwhp, which is as much as I have seen any shop, person or place make an s2000 handle--the axles, diff, motor, etc. I know people have dynoed higher numbers and inline has been able to track the car with 750ish, but they have worked night and day in making the s2k strong enough off of parts that wouldn't last. But with a 6776r stroker, which outflows the gt40r and bigger displacement gives me lots of torque, you think there's a better setup for the street, 1/4 mile, highway, some drift and handling? After all, with power to weight--if I get some weight reduction in, I'll be pulling near the same lb/hp as 1000hp cars with only a couple hundred pounds shed off (carbon fiber

there is no such thing as a 'best setup.'
if you've got unlimited funds, do a 2.5 stroker motor, throw a big turbo on it, upgrade your diff, get a dogbox tranny, a twin disc clutch, pull out your quarter panels and run huge tires and call it a day.
