I put on a test pipe and exhaust on my comptech s2000. I didnt turn up the fuel pressure and it slowly leaned out after I reset the ecu...
The car was running fine with the stock exhaust and then died when you put an uprated one on?

Shouldn't the ECU easily cope with arelatively minor mod like a new exhaust?

on a na car maybe but comptech kits are known to run a little lean outta the box, the wide open exhaust just pushed it a little to far.

Are you jealous or what? I hope you were joking by throwing the bs flag.

What specifically happened to the engine? Blowing it doesn't give too much info.

I am probably about to go comptech. Does this mean that if I add a an exhaust I need to get a complete programabble ECU like the F con or can you make the appropriate changes to the stock ECU?

No, just bring it by a tuner, have it dyno'd, and they can adjust the fpr.
It wont cost much at all.

Like I said before I am tearing off the head tonight. Right now its running smooth but knocking pretty loud.

Im leaving to pick up the car on a flat bed shortly, then Im gonna start tearing it down.

I cant wait to get this thing built up!!!

I have to say, you've got such a positive attitude...it's really nice to see. When I popped a motor in my RX-7 I was completely torn up about it. I think it was mainly the money and not so much the motor. I think a nice mild turbo setup would just complete this car but I never enjoyed trouble shooting boost leaks and stuff like that. The SC setup is nice because it's pretty easy to use...just keep her tuned up and go! However, I'm sure one ride in a turbo S2000 would completely flip my world upside down. This is why I refuse to ride in one...hehe

I notice alot of people make mention of my attitude, If you knew me you would know that im pretty care free. so thanks for noticing!

Im almost ready to pull the head, I got the supercharger off and most everything around it, the plugs were a little white from running lean but no oil on them. It wasnt burning anything extra so im guesing its bottom end trouble at the moment.

If your making mention to why it blew, I thought I made it clear that it blew cause I was running lean.

I didnt turn up the fpr when I installed the tp and exhaust plus I pulled the plugs and they were very white(that means its been running lean)......

I do drive the living hell out of it though????
