Blow off valve on a Comptech?
Hi, I have a Comptech supercharger but no AfterCooler. I was wondering if I can add a adjustable blow off value to it, cause I know the air is being recycled. And would it make it better?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Depends on your definition of better.
If you mean "Will it make fully sik PSSSSFFFFTTT noise?" then sure, but not like a Turbo BOV. The Comptech is always venting except when at WOT. So it will wheeze all the time and give a bit of a PSSSSHHH when you go hard then release.
Try the TurboSmart Kompact. fits inplace of the Bosch unit and has a cap for the intake tube. You'll need a supercharger spring too for the low boost level.

To whore out these bad pictures of my engine bay again:

GoFastBits Stealth FX .Is it better than the stock Bosch unit? Yes and no. It makes a cool sound, I had it on the dyno and it was pretty loud from the outside. Probably doesn't leak like the Bosch unit if your running more than stock boost. If I had to do it over again I'd upgrade to a beefier Bosch unit from a Porsche or an Audi.
