blow off valve not working!
i got in my car everything was working fine until i floored it once very hard. i started driving it after i shut it off for awhile and realized my bov wasn't working. i revved it to about 5-6k to hear a very late reacting very quiet psh sound. when i gas it fully to 8k then the bov works but once again reacts very late to how it used to. it makes absolutely no sound when letting off gas to engine brake and basically has gotten worse and is dead quiet now. what may cause this and will it do any damage? i checked the bov itself and it seems to be fine and the one hose connecting to the bov seems to be hooked up properly. the only thing that i find very odd is that the opening below the hose that connects from the bov to the throttle body has no hose connected to it. theres 2 openings one from the bov and i have no idea what the bottom opening is supposed to be connected to. i seem to have forgotten if it even in fact had two hoses connected to both openings. please help!
If the motor isn't under load (in gear and moving) you probably wont hear that much of a blow off. The turbos we run on our honda cars...may not seem that big, but look at a srt-4 stock turbo or a mazdaspeed etc.... They won't spool up by just revving the motor, and if it does, its a very low pressure being put out.
My turbo integra, I can rev at a light all day at somebody and they would have no clue my car was turbocharged. Soon as I start moving, the first gear I pull theres a clear sound.
Your post was a little confusing so I'm not sure if you meant you heard nothing while DRIVING or...just sitting there revving....

Like lsteg said. If you are in neutral, you're not gonna get much of a sound. You also only need the top nipple connect to your boost/vacuum source. If you think about what the BOV is doing is makes sense. You need the pressure that line is suppling to keep the valve closed under boost. As you let off the gas, there is no more pressure on the valve and it can open "Pssshhhh" to relieve the systme's pressure. The bottom nipple stays open. It's there to make it easier for the valve to operate. Hope this helps.
ok let me rephrase everything. first off look at my first post and you will see my mods. i am not turbo i am supercharged. if i am idle at a light and rev yes you can hear my blow off very loudly when its operating normally. when im on the fwy on 6th going about 70 and let off the gas, just like any blow off on a supercharger the blow off will make the hiss sound until i step on the gas again. i have no idea why it makes no sound all of a sudden but i need to know what may cause no sound. i checked the one hose that goes from the bov to the outlet near the throttle body around the injector area. everything is connected fine.
Do you still have all the stock emission vacuum tubing on? If you do double check all that as there may be a loose connection or leak. Do you have a boost gauge to verify you are making boost? I would suggest not driving the car until you get the bov to work because when you make boost and the tb butterfly suddenly shuts(when shifting) the excess boost might bend the butterfly as it has nowhere to vent.

All things being equal if your BOV worked but now it doesn't that would indicate that you have a boost leak somewhere. Check all your transition hoses to make sure you haven't blown a hose clamp somewhere.
If your setting on the BOV are just right under normal conditions....if there is a boost leak somewhere you will no longer be making the same amount of boost which in turn will mean the setting on the BOV will be too firm. This would cause your BOV to not sound off or sound.

i have that same bov and sorta the same problem...adjust the bolt on the bov but be careful not to strip it. i know for w/e reason mine came loose...but i sorta stripped it cuz i wasnt paying attention (read: moron) and ended up having to replace it...oops
