[QUOTE=honda9krpm,Apr 26 2005, 12:27 AM]^ they look similar but the mounting points are completely different
the diff's axle flanges are the same; 5 holes

The shop my car is at has a CAD program for the rear mounting bracket for the S13 diff.

There are many variants of the S13 diff and it will be harder to source aftermarket parts (lsd and final gear) for it since you wouldn't know from which Silvia spec it came from.

More specs about S13/14 diffs

trip, that's a fairly interesting statements about Silvia but I don't know how true that is in the US. May be you can clarify with some pictures.

In Australia, I believe that all S13 diffs ave the same shells and axle flanges. The S14 diff is completely different to the S13 and has different axle flange again. The s15 has a different axle flange again (I am not too sure about mounting points).....but lets not go there.

You gotta be kidding about finding aftermarket parts for silvia right? The s13 is a cult drift car in Japan. You can get aftermarket parts a lot easier and cheaper than most skyline parts.

I don't think there is any relevant in saying which diff is stronger. Both of them should hold the power for the s2k without much problem. I am more concern about the extra weight of the skyline diff.

It looks like elaug used the r33 skyline diff. If you are still keen on using the skyline diff then you should contact him.

This page ( http://www.nissansilvia.co.nz/tech/S...SX%20Table.htm ) is coming from a NZ source which most likely have JDM imports.

I only referred to as hard to source parts if you are not 100% sure from which car the diff is coming. Nissan made different types of Silvia Models S13, PS13, RS13, RSP13 and from what i could conclude most of then have different internals.
So if you had to order a new LSD from CUSCO which one will you choose? see the CUSCO links below to see the difference
(Yet again i am only pointing you to why i came to this conclusion. as per the different LSD's available from CUSCO)

I am not situated in US, I am in Malta(Europe) and got my diff from a friend in UK and i have the chassis number, model, engine and MY of the car it came from.

I was going the silvia route too and asked here about sourcing one

Ahhh my bad....I have always though you are from the US. My appology

Isn't it even harder to get skyline parts in Europe? I heard the GTR is so rare overthere.

Just for clarification for some nissan naive members,
240SX = JDM S14 (non turbo)
180SX = JDM S13
There are a number of S13 (non turbo, turbo and convertible) but I've been told the diff housing are the same. I am not sure if the internal LSD's are the same or not. The diff has a part number stamped on it. You can find out what car the diff comes from by checking with your local nissan spare parts store or may be google. When you order a better R200 LSD you just quote your number and pay the money

My car should be ready by the end of this week. Still waiting for the billet axle. We may do a destruction test on the defected/cracked axles to see what power it can hold.

Check the above link for progress.
