Is anyone out there running more than 10lbs. of boost with a supercharger without having done any internal modifications? If so, how many miles have you been running it and have you experienced any problems?

John Z. and Sideways are both boosting over 14 psi...John Z. is pretty much on a stock motor with some head work (if I remember correctly)...

There are a few of us pushing 14psi or more on supercharged setups. All you need is a healthy motor, proper fuel management, and a solid tune.

I run a stock bottom end with a built head.

lol, I ran 13psi on stock motor and it was great for about 50-60miles then I started having a little issue with the large amount of smoke coming out of the exhaust and I didn't drive much after that.

Headgasket and a map sensor, with 750cc injectors and EMS and you're set.

You don't necessarily need a headgasket at these boost level. John Z. and some other Comptech guy are doing it all without an HG. I can't remember if Sideways is running an HG. There are plenty of guys running 12 psi without HG's without issues...

To make a long story short, you'll need an excellent engine management system and larger injectors and a good tune. Excellent EMS usually means running an AEM EMS on our cars though there are guys running the Greddy Emanage with success.

It is strongly recommended to get a headgasket, and greatly lowers your risk of blowing up. You will get less hp and less headaches.

He said over 10psi. I'm making a very general statement. Maybe he wants to run 18psi...no way your going to get away with that without a headgasket
