Default Boost controller recommendations

I was wondering if anyone could recommend some boost controllers for my turbo set up (inline pro gt35r). At night I'm over boosting to nearly 11psi (on stock compression ) so I want to get that set at a steady 7/8psi (and then come summer, time to turn up the boost).

I used search but didn't really find a thread recommending controllers. I'm using an emanage so I cannot use the aem ems controller. I was thinking the greddy profec e01 since I can hook it up to my emanage and tune with it (which seems like a neat feature) but the downside is its ~400 ish. Maybe just the profec type-s?

To save a couple hundred dollars, I would just need a reliable electronic boost controller (I want to have a low boost and high boost feature) so manuel (despite being reliable is not exactly the way I want to go).

Let me know what you guys recommend!

Thanks,
Jonathan

I recommend the original Greddy Profec B to everyone, its a rock solid boost controller

these days they sell almost the same thing as the Greddy Type-S

I've owned two Profec Bs (not the spec 2) in the past and loved them, so simple to use and rock solid boost.

You can generally find them for 180-200 on ebay.

If you don't have a boost controller on there and it is overboosting to 11psi, adding a boost controller won't make it lower down to 7-8psi.

BTW, I'd recommend against the e01

My stock spring is 7psi, anything over that I thought the boost controller could regulate so if I was overboosting the controller could open the waste gate at whatever PSI I choose (in this case ~8psi)?

No?

I would go with the AEM TRU Boost controller.

And the spring is what dictates when the wastegate opens up. If you set your boost controller to 0% or 100% (depends on boost controller type) duty which is basically having the boost controller not do anything, it will do the same thing just the spring would do. The lowest PSI you can go is dicated 100% by the spring and not a boost controller.

If you are overboosting 4psi I would check your vacuum hoses for kinks or leaks as well as making sure that the timing isn't pulled too far back.

Ok so if I got a 5lb spring to limit the over boost to maybe 7psi, could I then get a boost controller to let it boost to 8psi and call it a day?

I think I see how this works now.
