Boost pressure question
Hi everyone I have a question. For those of you using Inline Pro kits and Hondata are you all having problems hitting higher boost levels when its really hot out and slightly higher humidity? My low boost is set at 12 psi and high at 18 psi, however while driving around yesterday on low boost I was at 10-12 psi and high boost I would bounce from 12-14 psi. (I need to drive around datalogging to see exact psi levels). The weather outside was very hot, hot enough that after driving around I checked under the hood and could hear the coolant boiling inside the overflow tank (dont worry, I did let the fans keep going to cool it).
I understand that higher humidity kills boost pressure because a few weeks ago I was trying to hit high boost and had similar boost results as yesterday. I talked to Ya and he suggested checking all boost lines and couplers, which I did and they all looked great. (my coupler from the turbo to charge pipe is starting to burn some but 3 layers of heat tape later its ok now, lol). I was just under the assumption that the Hondata would work with the EBC and increase the pressure to compensate for the temp.
Just some more background after the first attempt at not hitting high boost I tried again a few days later and couldnt hit 18 psi but I was at least hitting 15-16 psi. Also my car was tuned in late Feb meaning it was much lower temp and possibly lower humidity. Thanks for any help!
