Default Which Boost producer am I?

Well, I have been reading in the F/I forum for the past week and have decided to ask the help of the experts (that's you guys, btw).

I am not asking what you think is the best option out there, I am asking what you think is the best option for me.

I know how I want my car to perform/behave, and I was wondering if you guys/gals could prescribe the best method of forced induction to meet those goals. I pretty much know the route I want to take, but I am just seeing if those with boosted S2K's agree.

I have zero performance mods on the car as it sits.

Priorities in order:
1) drivability/reliability. The car is my daily driver. I am graduating from law school and have a job with a firm in Little Rock. My commute from my house to work isnt bad, but my car CANNOT be down and it has to behave nicely in case I have to shuttle clients around.

2) leaving the car in one piece. The less I have to chop up the car, the better I feel. I have modded cars to the brink of recognizability in my youth and have come to realize that going that route doesnt always make me happy.

3) Power - obviously Im a power junkie, and this is important to me... but not more important than drivability/reliability. If my S2k made at or around 300whp, Id be plenty happy.

4) Cost - Im not looking to break the bank, but I am realistic about what this costs. I would like to get out for under/around 5 grand if possible.

SO what is the best for me: turbo (I dont think so either)?, vortech?, comptech w/o ac, comptech w/ a/c?

comptech w/o aftercooler if you dont want to spend that much and then upgrade to a 7psi pulley. you should be happy with the power, driveability, reliabilty.

From what you have said, it says SC'er all over your post. Just erase the word "turbo" from your vocabulary because that is not for you. Personally, I like Vortech better, but you also can't go wrong with a comptech SC'er setup. I would opt for the aftercooler with the comptech kit though. Its really not that expensive and lover intake temps are always safer on top of providing for more power. Good luck with whatever route you decide to go.

Reliability + driveability + ease of installation + 300whp = Comptech SC w/ aftercooler

Just bolt this sucker on and go. No other supporting mods needed unless you feel you need an upgraded clutch setup.

Sounds like SC is right option for you. I like Vortech but I'm a little biased

This may fall under your driveability category...emissions testing.
Both the Vortech and Comptech are CARB certified.
