Default boost by speed aem ems v1

so i have a few questions for others using this feature. it looks like once in awhile it goes retarded and doesnt hit the desired boost. most of the time i see 10psi up to about 60mph, then 13ish above that. but once in awhile, i see 11 above 60. i remember mase saying when he was setting it up it was quirky. curious what others have noticed when using it.

im gonna turn it off and see how the car responds. if it holds 2nd gear i might just leave it off.

thanks in advance.

if its setup right it works great. I have never had any issues with it that weren't mechanical.

post a screen shot of the boost target - vss template

Not sure if kpro has boost by speed but boost by gear works great also.

If I didn't have this feature, my car would of never left the starting line, or anywhere for that matter. When used and setup properly it's a great form of putting as much power to the ground as your tires will allow.

I definitely wouldn't turn it off, just figure out what is acting up causing it not to work properly.

My two cents.

welp, did some logging, turned it on and off. found out that with it off, the car is setup to hit 11psi. when i turn on the boost by speed, it will raise it to about 13psi, which is what i want. basically, i guess i have to adjust the wastegate duty cycle so that i am not using the boost by speed compensation to raise boost. <sigh> wish i owned a dyno lol.

i'm going to assume you are using aem pro..

if so log these things and shoot me your cal.. its easy to fix with a little info....

engine load
engine speed
vehicle speed
boost error
boost target
boost wg out
boost wg trim

do a pull in 3rd, then do a 1st-3rd pull logging those things and i'm sure i can help you get it spot on.

Once its setup right it will hold damn near perfectly.

Setting boost control up on the dyno usually doesnt translate exactly when on the street.. most of the time it has to be tweaked.
