Default Borg Warner s256 vs s251

Hey guys and girls, I'm coming up on my scheduled "boost activation" project for my s2000. The two turbos I have difficulty choosing from are Borg warner's s200-56sx and s200-51sx. Looking for 350-480ish whp with quick spool tendencies. I will be hoping for the power on a log manifold or shorty tubular mani. Can anyone with either turbos list rpm in which they see full boost and well as which manifold they are running. I am leaning toward the s256, but I would like to know if the s251 can spool faster and still get me close to my power goal. Thanks-Justin

There is a great post by scorpion t about this. He says if going e85 or method these can work. Otherwise just go s300 series for pump. Mine is awesome. Spools by 5ish but I'm not super aggressive on the solenoid helping spool up. And I run boost by speed which effects it also.

Ok cool thanks for your response. If what scorpion t says is true, what can these yield on pump as far as full boost rpm. E85 can be my "race" tune fuel.

.....And just like that...mind has changed...Camuman has convinced me the s300 may work for me, I just want it to spool alittle sooner 4.5k-ish would be nice

Wait why would these smaller turbos work better with e85 vs pump? Im not understanding that at all, the 8375 would prob be a good choice, but with the goals u want the 200 series seems to fit better, and with the t3 options now its easy

Passman, I thought I would be fine as well. The s300s would but me at the high end of my goal but I fear a 5k full spool for something not running too big of numbers. I was hoping the owners of the s256s could help

Ehh. Find that post. It's really good. The t3 thing might be the only annoyance.

Trust me I know how you feel right now. I went thought this a few years ago. Open or divided. Log or sidewinder. S360 or s362. Arrrrrrgggggggg. I still sometimes second guess myself and say I shoulda went s360. But people say the spool is negligible. Idk.

I got a s360 for a quicker spool being that its the smallest s300 but housing choice will also play a part in that. Scorpion T would be the man to ask about borgs. The link Camuman posted actually has the post explaining his reason for choosing the s300 over the s200 depending on fuel choice.
