Default bov on a kw kit

Does anyone know if it is easy to put a BOV on a KW ap1 high boost kit? Car is finally coming out of the shop, need a new clutch soon, and then KW HB kit in the spring!

Helped a friend install a Synapse Synchronic BOV on his KW high boost kit. Install was easy and took about 30 minutes. Tapping the extra vacuum source on the intercooler piping took the longest. All we had to do was purchase the proper adapter flange to mat to the stock Bosch one.

Why wouldn't you use the same vacuum/boost source as you do for the original bypass valve?

You do reuse that one.

The Synchronic BOV requires 2 vacuum sources as opposed to the stock Bosch BOV which only needs 1. You will need a vacuum source before and after the throttle body.

So i would def be able to do this on my own. Different BOVs require different mods?

I can only comment on the BOV posted above, but yes different brands require different modifications. Some may require a lot more work to make them fit. (ie. weld a new flange)

Do some more research and see if there are any other options that are bolt on for the Kraftwerks Kit.

The Synapse bov is BIG so it is tight fitting. There are two vacuum ports (use one or both - I use both) and one boost port (second picture). This bov is ALWAYS open until it sees positive boost. Non recalculating fi systems require a filter on the bov and to make it work on a KW kit you need the Volkswagen accessory. As a side note, this bov will NOT leak upto 100psi and when you brink your S up to 7k+, the discharge is like firing a 45!
