Default Brakes for FI track car

I installed the new Kraftwerks supercharger kit and am making just over 400 whp. I am new to FI and have not yet been to the track with the FI car. I have been tracking my S2000 NA for several years and got the SC kit mostly for tracking the car.

I run the stock calipers and rotors, and have front brake ducts. I use Carbotech XP8/AX6 or XP10/XP8 pads when at the track. I crack front rotors occasionally but they are cheap enough that I consider them consumables for tracking.

With the extra speed from the supercharger, I expect to work the brakes harder.

Do you FI guys who track your cars use stock brake parts (except for pads)? Do I need a BBK?

Well... I guess the question becomes, how often do you like replacing rotors? I believe some guys here have tracked with 400whp, track dependent of course, only get a weekend out of a set of rotors. Anyway, some threads to search in the R&C portion of the forum.

Just a thought, but cryo treating the pads & rotors should extend their life. I know years back a friend's race shop installed them on some customer cars and universally saw longer life. You can buy cryo'd rotors now, but I'm not sure about pads.

You will need a bbk, I use to cook my oem brakes on the road when supercharged.

For the occasional track event: I'm planning on running StopTech pads and Goodridge stainless lines but keeping the stock calipers and the existing slotted rotors.

Should be better than the cheapy pads and the 100k+ oem lines I ran this summer. You could smell the pads melting away.

Definitely a Stoptech BBK The 2 piece calipers and rotors will help dissipate heat on the track.
