Question Broken engine

hello everyone

a few days before i broke my supercharged engine.
it was MY00 engine with 34000km.
i have done about 1500km @ 7psi and another 1500@ 15psi with the inline pro 3mm HG
i didnt race the car frequently and thats probably why it was not burning any oil

it was while street racing with another car from roll with 2nd and when in 6th gear i felt power loss and after that the noisy metallic sound.
(at least i was far ahead )

after tuning the car with js header and test pipe i added the silencers on my invidia.
i raced the car with the silencers on.
do you thing that the silencers might have caused this ?

So you are guessing you blew your motor based on a noise from your exhaust silencer? It's gods way of saying "don't street race"

I don't think the silencers are the cause of your engine blowup. The silencers restrict airflow. If anything, their use would have a slight effect of richening the fuel mix.

What A/F ratios did you achieve during tuning? What is your fueling set up to support 15psi of boost? Fuel management, injector size, FPR, etc.

If you have the emanage what codes did the ECU throw when this happened. Certainly a "broken" engine would throw a code or 2

Yianna: Sorry to hear!!!

I doubt the silencers did it. The tune is far more important than silencers. I have put in my silencers before never full raced out, but my car still runs.
