Default BRP Performance Supercharger

BRP Performance is coming out with an S2k supercharger. I haven't seen anyone talking about it so I figured I'd bring it up.

LINK BRP S2K Supercharger

BRP have been making chargers for Miatas for a long time they really know their shit.

It will be interesting to see what they can pull out of our S2K's

More flow less boost...

It's also MP62 based which if Im not mistaken is not centrifugal. Which may bring out some more Torque and mid range power for us. The Miata version of this kit takes the torque up to max almost immediately and holds it through to redline. Really good throttle response. Can't wait to see what they pull out of it.

Actually, it's already been discussed here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=247253

I challenge you to whip something up worthy of being mass produced with the quality of their existing products. It amazes me how some people think this stuff should get pulled out of someones ass in a few months and be marketed with any success.

Trust me, it will happen. Brant of BRP now owns an '05. Most of their time has been wasted dealing with Jackson Racing, who has since backed out of the project (a good thing).

Hey then we will wait and see. I don't know much about the company so maybe I shouldn't be the one saying what they are and aren't going to do. Just based on what I saw as a year has now passed and still no word on final date or anything. And if they do then that's great it puts a great roots type charger out there and adds competition to Vortech and Comptech which in the long run will lower their prices. I didn't mean to come off as if it's not hard to do or anything but based on my knowledge (very little) it didn't seem like it was going to happen.

It's a roots style, Magnusen MP62 blower:

http://www.magnusonproducts.com/mp62.htm

I know BRP is a new face to the S2000 scene, but they've been around for years developing roots based Miata kits. I remember them being a new face to the Miata scene about 5 some odd years ago when I had a Miata. I had just bought a Jackson Racing M45 supercharger for my Miata when BRP started working on theirs. They originally began perfecting Jackson's kit, since there were quite a few drivability issues with that kit. After that, they began developing their own kit based on the MP62. I've seen the same thing happen over at Miata.net with people getting a little impatient and saying, "It'll never happen. It's taking too long." and today BRP probably has one of the most kickass supercharger kits for the Miata. There customer service and support is second to none, so I hear. They are constantly perfecting what they have done. It seems as though every few months they have developed something for their kits to squeeze more power out of them. People rave that their Miatas feel like they came with the SC from factory, it drives so well. They were even featured on the Speed Channel. Their prices are very reasonable also.

I really don't know any more about the progress of the S2000 kit than anyone else does, but I do know that the project is not on the back burner. We should see something by the new year.

Im holding out on boost right now and waiting to see this MP62 mate with a F22/F20 with a high rev limiter with higher compression. Should make really good power.

They have already given their reasons for the delay. BRP is an extremely quality company. They don't give release dates or show pictures or make promises until they are sure. This way they can make any changes they want without the user community griping and groaning about it.

The other reason for the delay is Jackson Racing's decision to back out of the deal. They were going to use Jackson racing to depot all the kits and parts. BRP isn't a huge company so getting all their ducks in a row for these things to be mass produced and sold at this level I'm sure is their biggest challenge.

If this thing comes out and they cant get them to us and their logistics are bad then it wont be the Roots-based charger that falls on its face it will be the fact that no one can get one.

I know I will be placing my order as soon as it comes out. I'd rather used 275HP through a range of 4000 RPMS then 300HP through a range of 1500 RPMS.
