Building block
Hi everyone,
I have been a lurker for quite some time. I am looking to build my ap2 block and I wanted some direction in sleeves, rods, piston, bore size, etc.
Can you guys recommend a place to get my blocked sleeved? I was thinking of sending it to benson, do you guys agree/dis-agree and why?
I would like to get 9:1 compression to avoid using a thicker head gasket.
What do you guys suggest I do.

I will do the same thing soon and I would go a bit higher than 9:1 to get a better base engine, both tuners, fuels and the EMS´s are getting better now and I can´t see the reason to stay that low.
Darton and do it local or send it to Inline Pro for both job and sleeves are my options, want the deck pretty closed because of old open deck stories and problems.
Can´t decide on this one but think I´ll go Darton because of the block shipping price to USA.
When it comes to piston and rods it´s all up to taste, I love JE and Wiseco but know that CP make great stuff as well. Pauter, Verdi, Carillo or other brands will do the rod job.
Pick a good engine builder or S2K company (IP) and they´ll guide you.

My setup isnt running yet but heres my list
ap1 block/crank
golden eagle sleeves
CP 9.0 pistons 87.5 bore
BC rods with arp 2000 bolts
arp headstuds
oem bearings
golden eagle oil squirter plugs
ferrea competition plus valves std size
supertech dual springs/ti retainers
new oem valve seals
pretty simple stuff really, pick parts and a person you trust to build it if you arent gonna do it yourself.
