Default built motor

Ok, i know things can go wrong and there are different variable, etc. etc. etc. What i want to know is, how long do built motors typically last. I am talking about a sleeved block, low compression built with a built head and a good tune. Can i expect it to last as long as a regular s2000 motor if i take care of it or will all the stress still cause it to wear out faster. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but it is going to help me decide what to do right now with the car.
thanks

If the motor is built properly and tuned properly it can last a very long time. I have seen built motors, and had them of my own last a long time. The one thing you have to keep in mind, if you are building a motor to increase the power... it is going to take a beating esp. since this is a post in the forced induction forum. Take out the chance that a oil pump can fail, it doesnt over heat, there is no problems with the tune or no electrical failures. Then sure it could last the life of a normal s2k motor. But the odds of that are slim since once again the motor is going to take a beating. and lets face it. Parts are meant to fail at some point.

Im sorry if this is not the answer you are looking for, its just a hard question to answer. Yes it can happen, and you should expect it to last a long time if you do it right.

Bottom line, do it right, keep on eye on things and have some fun with it. The way i look at it... Its only a car, not a life.
