Default buying a used turbo kit

I'm interested in a used turbo kit for sale from a s2k owner. He stated the he spent about $6000 on it and only had it on his for about 1000 miles. It's all custom made turbo kit. What should I look out for when I see the turbo kit in person? thanks

As a general rule of thumb we don't recommend getting a used turbo kit. Your odds of getting something that is damaged or just not working all together are much higher than if you were to just buy a new kit.

The best assurance to know if something still works look at it (if possible) while its still on the car, running, if it still works for them it is way more likely it will work for you.

That in mind like the others said check for shaft play, do this by seeing if you can push pull the compressor wheel, it should have play up down side to side but it shouldn't be able to move in and out that is a clear sign of no good.

Check for cracks in the manifold. Any obvious damage to the intercooler pipes. If its off the vehicle check for anything stuck in the intercooler.

And as always, count of having to replace something sooner or later. Most people who have a good working turbo kit aren't trying to sell it.

I hope this helps, and good luck!

My best advice is: Buy a new turbo kit from me!! You wont regret it.
