Default Calling all Meth-heads

Im seriously getting a meth injection kit, just need to weigh out the different systems and possible negative side effects.

I have the SoS TB so no worries of the meth destroying the TPS, a standalone to tune with and planning on raising the boost to 12lbs. Gas out here sucks ass with the 91 piss water, so figure meth is the best way to lower the temps and control it more.

Any down sides to meth or injection, does it accelerate or corode the engine and its wear?

Is the AEM kit good? I was thinking of a constant volume over a progressive, have it turn on by boost... not sure what else to consider. Was also thinking of a 5 gallon tank for the liquid mounted in the trunk possibly then run the line along side the fuel line and have the actual pump in the engine bay? A inline filter, saftey switches and not sure what else id need.

I've tuned plenty of meth cars. If it's done right and maintained. It works. I made 910whp on 94 octane pump gasoline and methanol injection. The only down side is if you don't have any fail safes or it's not tuned properly. That's it. The AEM kit is decent and works.

What kit and failsafes do you recommend? I dont mind spending more to do it right and have it reliable and safe.

The AEM kit works great. I used it in conjunction with an EMS and had the AEM fail safes setup and in place. Never had any issues and I made a ton of power on it.

I used 50% distilled water, and 50% M1 VP Methanol. I didn't even go through 1/2 of a 5 gallon pail of methanol in an entire year, and I drove/raced a lot.

You are going to get a lot of different opinions, which ever way you go, you have to remember that you MUST pay attention and make sure the system is functioning. Especially if you are tuned on the ragged edge where you are relying on the water/meth for your motors survival. You can only fail safe so much, you need to also monitor, service, and maintain the system properly.

Being that you have a Science of Comptech SC w/AC. The AEM kit will suite you just fine. boostedf22c posted some very useful advice which is in quotes below.

^ Science of Comptech? ^

Judging from what i've read, be sure that you get a relatively safe tune, incase of failures you dont want to lose a motor.

I'd recommond a flow sensor on ANY methanol kit your purchase.

Aem kit is nice, had it on my first setup, but it just doesn't have the fail safes other kits have.

Mine can sense under flow, over flow, has filters, ground faults, power faults, and a bunch of other safes.

You can monitor it all from the seat. Very nice setup, also for sale btw.

Haha ya thats what I call it, it was originally a comptech system but I have since added alot of SoS parts to it so I consider it a hybrid SC system thus the name "Science of Comptech". It now has SoS heat exchanger, their mounting plate with a Novi1200, SoS map, SoS TB and other SOS parts.

Aquamist seems to be the most recommended... now to add up a list of failsafes. Does anyone know if Kpro can watchout for a low tank and set a fuelpump cut for it?

List of parts I have concluded so far:

Return flow pump
Inline filter
Boost controlled switch
Low meth tank fuel line cut?

Looks like direct port on the manifold is the most efficient and safe setup?
