When s2 enthusiasts began to go experiment with forced induction, was the turbo first or the supercharger? Just curious.

 

I think that the supercharger kits were first (Comptech) but when you say experiment it leads me to believe that it would be turbo. Supercharger setups are actual kits and not experimental, whereas the early turbo cars were mostly experimental (and still are).

 

I would bet the first FI S2000 was a turbo.

The bleeding-edge tuners are almost 100% turbo guys.

Supercharge was definitely first. Two makers and I can't remember who was first? My recollection is Comptech but they initially had major issues with their mounting system (i.e. lots of cracks). Turbo came several years later.

It was Comptech. They came out with the kit without aftercooler and then Vortech came with the aftercooler inluded so Comptech started offering it as an option

 

Actually if my memory serves me correctly, speedcraft had a couple turbo cars running around in FL and TX in 01, about a year before comptech released their kit.
