Default Can I run a Garrett GT turbo without coolant lines

I have a GT3082 that I am going to try and install tonight, but I want to wait for a friend to help me with the water coolant lines when he gets back in town on Thursday. Will I be able to run the turbo just with the normal oil cooling line for a couple of days?

Thanks

S2guru who sold me the turbo told me in a PM that I shouldn't do it and I trust him. He even sent me a picture of where they connect to and it seems easy enough. Any insight/suggestions/help from anybody?

I wouldn't do it.

That turbo is designed for water cooling and I would imagine you will fry it without the coolant lines hooked up.

This is the picture he sent me with the areas circled that I need to hook up to.

I'm assuming I just slap them on and hook them up to the turbo and I'm good to go? I'm not even sure where they hook onto the turbo at. One line is 45 inches long and the other is 34 inches I believe. On one end of each line is a hose clamp which I assume connects to the circled areas in the image I just posted. The other end of each line has some sort of metal fitting that is circular.

same place i have mine hooked into. doesnt matter which side is which because the turbo doesnt have an IN or an OUT.

The side with the banjo style bolts goes to the turbo

You can run it for a little bit without the coolant lines.

If you need to have the car up and running it should be fine.

I would get the coolant lines on it as soon as possible

Thank you Ya! Not that I want to push the car for an extended period of time without them, it would only be things like running 2 - 3 mile errands for a few days so I can take care of things that I need to do. I'm hoping to get them on today but if not it would be nice to know that I could still drive around and get stuff done.

I will be keeping it out of boost or very low boost if at all - I know this turbo will spool a hell of a lot faster than the old one I had and I don't want it to run too lean in earlier rpms so I need to do a retune.

And what about the other side? Where does that go? Which is the banjo style side (the one on the left in the picture)?

so you hook the turbo coolant lines to the TB warming lines? what would one do if they have the hondata IMG and those lines are eliminated?
